Video Toaster® [2] Build 3890
NewTek is pleased
to offer the seventh free update for Video Toaster®
[2]. Welcome to the very latest build of the Video
Toaster [2] "TV Studio-in-a-box". This version
introduces some significant new features to Toaster's
operation, as well as speed and interactivity improvements.
Windows
XP Support
As part
of this build we have added Windows XP Support. This
update is not part of the downloadable update offered
below, due to size restraints. Registered Video Toaster
[2] owners who wish to operate Video Toaster on Windows
XP Professional need to get a new install CD from
NewTek Europe. You may order this full CD here
or by calling NewTek Europe. at +33 (0)557 262 262.
We suggest
you begin with a fresh install of Windows XP Pro
before installing Video Toaster [2]. Instead of
upgrading the operating system, format the system
drive and install Windows XP Service Pack 1 on a
clean drive. This ensure that there will be no lingering
Windows 2000 drivers. Service Pack 1 is necessary
to improve SCSI disk performance for the video RAID.
On initial boot-up of Windows XP after you have
installed the Toaster card, XP will report new hardware
found. Click "Cancel" and proceed by installing
the Video Toaster software.
Additional
Features
Firmware
A new version of Video Toaster
Firmware has been included in this update to resolve
an intermittent problem with some motherboards that
might have had 'no video signal present' displayed
in ToasterVision upon rebooting. This core update
is not applied automatically, but it is recommended
you update the core to the newest version. To run
this, run the Core Updater shortcut from Start Menu,
Video Toaster [2], Utilities, or open a Command window,
and type "vtcoreupdate update" (without
quotes) at the command line.
ToasterEdit
As a popularly-requested
item for ToasterEdit, we have added a hotkey to be
able to "nudge" clips forward or backward
one frame at a time in Timeline view. This new hotkey
is Alt + left or right arrow. You may also move the
in and out points of clips by pressing "i + left
or right arrow" for in points or "o + left
or right arrow" for out points.
Aura
Aura VT 2.5b has a new filter
to allow you to paint on any LightWave 3D image-mapped
surface that is loaded into LightWave VT.
Which file do you need?
There are three versions
of this update. The one you require will depend
on which product version of Video Toaster® [2]
you currently have installed. NOTE:
These downloadable files will only update Windows
2000 systems. If you wish to run Windows XP,
you
will need to request the full CD.
VTP3890.zip
- This update is installed directly on top of standard
Video Toaster® [2] full-release version.
Please refer to the README file
in the download for full details.
As an option, you can request an upgrade CD here
