VT[4] Service Pack 1 download

Thank you for installing this Service Pack to NewTek's VT[4] Integrated Production Suite. Numerous changes have been made, both in fixes and in new features. We appreciate your feedback, which plays a large role in shaping this Integrated Production Suite's future. Please send feature requests to vidfeatures@newtek.com.

NewTek Europe has provided an easier system for online registration, and the ability to register over-the-phone with Customer Services. If your VT[4] is already registered, installation of this Service Pack will not affect that. If not, you will need to register VT[4] to download the VT[4] SP1 update.

Downloadable Update Installation Instructions

The Service Pack 1 downloadable update is an executable file (extension .exe). You can download the appropriate file to wherever you choose on your hard drive. Once you have downloaded this file, navigate to the folder where you placed the file, and double-click on the file to execute the installer.

New features and fixes

VT[4] SP1 has completed thorough beta testing, and is stable. Within VT[4] SP1, there are some new features and numerous fixes as well:

      New Features
  •  New Color Match feature
  •  Audio clips can now be played back before conforming has completed.
  •  Separate audio files can be written from VT-Edit for each audio channel.
  •  Italic support for image layers in VT-Edit, and separate shadow layer.
  •  PRX (WindowsMedia profile) support in VT-Stream.
  •  .DVD format supported (raw DV data files.)
 
      Improvements
  •  DV camera includes VT[4] in the list of available applications that can use it.
  •  Selection of DV camera, launches VT[4] with the capture panel open.
  •  General improved performance across the board.
  •  Reverb has been improved to normalize audio better.
  •  Native reading of compressed DV audio from files is now optimized.
  •  Support for damaged DV audio frames.
  •   Improved performance when displaying icons on large numbers of stills.
  •  Optimized performance of Reverberation and Delay effects.
  •  VGA Screen capture updates alpha channel in real-time, allowing for improved DSK use.
  •  There is a “hard key” mode in addition to the default “soft-key” behavior.
  •  DDR, VT-Edit and File bin scroll when you use the cursor keys to keep selection in view.
  •  QuickTime compatibility improvements.
  •  Unsupported bit-rates are no longer listed.
  •  Better error checking for DV.
  •  Progressive settings updated.
  •  If you exit the machine while files are still conforming, it will halt conforming until you return.
  •  Improved legacy SX8 support, including support for 7.2 breakout boxes.
  •  Many new TScript commands, including separate DDR controls
  •  Improved PAL composite Proc-amp settings.
  •  Major improvements to DV camera detection when plugged/unplugged.
 
      Fixes
  • Audio 'disappearing' bug resolved.
  • PAL DVEs won’t crash NTSC projects.
  • ProcAmp Bypass has been settings have been improved.
  • CG updates the output and undo/redo buffers when the style changes.
  • A fix for a rare audio glitch in the DDR.
  • Deck control failing to initialize the VU meters correctly has been resolved.
  • Alpha channel is correctly rendered.
  • AVI wrapped files are displayed within VT, the plugins not reloading has been resolved
  • Several minor fixes, including erroneous plug-in reports on video resolution.
  • TGA still previews do not always show the first frame has been resolved.
  • TGA sequences no longer lock up when there are gaps of missing frames
  • Audio channels are no longer flipped (left <-> right) in Ulead and TMPGEnc.
  • Crash in VT-Edit with some preset effects resolved.
  • General stability improvements.
  • Drag-n-drop behavior updated and improved internally providing better feedback.
  • Cross-Keyer and Switcher lockup fixed.
  • CG Player no longer shows safe area markers fixed.
  • CG-Player now refreshes correctly after play was pressed.
  • Crash on “reveal” resolved.
  • CG handle sizes resolved.
  • Show all layers bug fixed.
  • Selection of multiple items is disabled when you move text.
  • Shadow effect shows in RT on program out.
  • Changing color does shows up in RT on program out.
  • Color clamping is now properly implemented.
  • Display window no longer uses NTSC proportions at all times.
  • Various KB Shortcut fixes.
  • Alignment keyboard shortcuts work.
  • Edge and Shadow fixes.
  • VT-Vision spurious menu settings removed.
  • Copying a template no longer causes a crash.
  • Crash when exiting with auto-save resolved.
  • DVE Advance now works all the time with RS-8 or keyboard
  • Undo operations on markers now work correctly.
  • Odd/Even edge counts in VT-Edit layering fixed.
  • Solid colors default settings now always render correctly.
  • PAL fix when clips sometimes changed size when an “undo” was performed.
  • Switcher fix that could cause an infinite Auto-loop even when Repeat was not enabled.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ

Before installing VT[4] SP1, back up any personal content located in the VT[4] folder on your hard drive.

To download this update, you will need your VT[4] serial number. Once you have supplied this information, you will have access to VT[4] SP1.

There is a new Registration process that was implemented with VT[4]. If you have already registered VT[4], no further registration action is required. If not, you will need to register VT[4] to download the VT[4] SP1 update. NewTek Europe has provided an easier system for online registration, and the ability to register over-the-phone with Customer Services.
