Antonio, Texas – June 12, 2008 - NewTek, Inc., manufacturer
of industry-leading video and 3D animation products, announced today
that its TriCaster™ portable production studio was used to
stream the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Wrestling live from
the campus
of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas June 13th through 15th.
Coverage of this event featured competitions in 18
separate Olympic wrestling weight classes in three distinct Olympic
styles (men’s freestyle, men’s Greco-Roman, and women’s
freestyle) on the program for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The live
web cast, hosted by veteran wrestling announcers Van Stokes and Scott
Casber, was seen on NBCOlympics.com at 5:00 pm PST each day.
"USA Wrestling is excited that we will partner with NBCOlympics.com to provide a free, live web cast of the U.S. Olympic Team Trials finals for wrestling and sports fans around the world. This would not be possible without access to the TriCaster portable production studio, which provides the technology to allow this opportunity. The wrestling community is very excited about this," said Rich Bender, USA Wrestling Executive Director.
“While the finals of this event are being taped and broadcast on June 22nd on MSNBC, the most enthusiastic wrestling fans will be able to see all the qualifying action live this weekend” said

Each day, six best-of-three Championships Series was held. The weight
classes contested each day were:
• Friday, June 13 – 48 kg women’s freestyle, 55 kg women’s freestyle, 63 kg women’s freestyle, 72 kg women’s freestyle, 55 kg Greco-Roman, 60 kg Greco-Roman
• Saturday, June 14 – 66 kg Greco-Roman, 74 kg Greco-Roman, 84 kg Greco-Roman, 55 kg men’s freestyle, 60 kg men’s freestyle, 66 kg men’s freestyle
• Sunday, June 15 – 96 kg Greco-Roman, 120 kg Greco-Roman, 74 kg men’s freestyle, 84 kg men’s freestyle, 96 kg men’s freestyle, 120 kg men’s freestyle
