NewTek Releases Live Virtual Set Generator for VT[5]™
Aura™ paint plug-in scales and warps live video in NewTek virtual sets.

San Antonio, Texas - December 19, 2007 -- NewTek, Inc., manufacturer of industry-leading video and 3D animation products, today announced the release of LiveSet Generator™ for Aura™. This is a free plug-in for any system that is compatible with the popular Aura™ paint and 2D animation program, including NewTek’s VT [5]™ Integrated Production Suite. LiveSet Generator for Aura takes advantage of Aura’s very fast 2D engine, providing rapid placement of live talent, or on-screen monitors in customized live virtual sets. LiveSet Generator for Aura uses LiveSet™, NewTek’s proprietary live virtual set technology now available in its TriCaster STUDIO™ Portable Live Production System and VT[5] system.


LiveSet Generator™ for Aura™:

This plug-in allows VT[5] users to: 

  • Generate real-time video scaling for virtual on-set monitors and video walls.
  • Layer live video in projects that support reflections, shadows, warping and more.
  • Automatically generate and assign LiveSet preview icons.
  • Save Aura layers directly to LiveSet format.

LiveSet™ Technology

LiveSet™ is a live virtual set system for VT[5] and TriCaster STUDIO. LiveSet allows effects to be applied independently to any camera input as well as the integrated DDRs and iVGA inputs. Each LiveSet effect offers virtual cameras with multiple camera angles and focal lengths, with support for secondary video sources, such as on-screen background monitors and video walls. The photo-realistic LiveSet engine allows real-time use of reflections, refractions, bump maps and more.
