Amsterdam, Netherlands -- IBC -- September 07, 2007 -- NewTek, Inc., manufacturer of industry-leading video and 3D animation products, today announced that Sky News, UK's leading television news channel has chosen TriCaster STUDIO™ for two major projects on www.sky.com/news the fastest growing news site in Europe. The acquisition of TriCaster STUDIO is part of a continuing programme of investment and improvements over the last two years by UK's most popular television news channel.

"A new emphasis in being placed on video content – and not just material that has already been broadcast on Sky News television, said Martin Stanford, Sky News presenter. There are plans for new original content to be either posted for viewing or streaming on the site. The TriCaster’s ability to capture content from computer screens is being used extensively, and the virtual set feature is undergoing testing at the time of writing "

In addition there is to be a new evening news show in October, hosted by Martin Stanford, that will select its stories and content from the web. It will track the stories that are attracting the most readers, and the issues that are being debated or blogged about.
The combination of portability and ease of set-up with the extensive live production capabilities of TriCaster STUDIO allows video producers to broadcast and web stream events and content at levels previously considered prohibitive. TriCaster STUDIO provides all of the capabilities of a live remote production truck including: component video, six component video inputs and advanced switching features, live virtual sets, multiple upstream effects, dual virtual VCRs, balanced audio and more in a 16lb, low impact footprint. TriCaster STUDIO, the unique all-in-one portable Live production system, makes it possible to cover live events, broadcast and stream from almost any location at unprecedented production cost.
