NewTeks LightWave [3D] wins
a prestigious Maxine at the MacUser awards ceremony
in London.
21.11.02, London
Lincolns Inn Fields provided the venue
for this years MacUser awards. More than 400
people attended the glittering gala dinner event representing
some of the biggest names in the Mac industry. The
awards, one of the longest running and most respected
in the Mac community, are judged by a panel of 15
expert contributors to the magazine. MacUser editor
Ian Betteridge had this to say about LightWave winning
the best 3D app award: "In an exceptionally close
category, LightWave 7.5 edges ahead of its rivals
because of its exceptional rendering quality and fantastic
character animation tools such as the Motion Mixers
non-linear motion editing. We think this makes LightWave
7.5 a compelling buy for anyone doing 3D on the Mac."
While the other
finalists, Maya from Alias|Wavefront and Cinema 4D
from Maxon, were praised highly by the judges, on
the night only one could win. The field was narrowed
down to only three from an initial grouping of six
entries that were, as Ian Betteridge puts it: "serious
possibilities".
