NewTek Ships SX-SDI Serial Digital Switcher

VT[4] adds affordable SDI switching to production pipeline
 

San Antonio, Texas -- April 17, 2007 -- NewTek, Inc., desktop video pioneer and manufacturer of industry-leading video and 3D animation products, today announced it is shipping the SX-SDI Serial Digital Switcher for use with VT[4] LIVE! The new hardware extends live production with 8 serial digital inputs on rack-mountable hardware. SX-SDI connects serially to the existing SX-84 switcher, allowing input of SDI as well as component, Y/C and composite video inputs.

“The pristine quality of SDI switching has been out of reach for most video professionals until now,” says Philip Nelson, NewTek Vice President of Sales and Video Marketing. “Adding serial digital switching to VT[4] allows broadcasters and high-end producers to maintain a digital pipeline from acquisition to delivery.”

In addition to 8 serial digital video inputs, the SX-SDI switcher features 5 routable serial digital outputs and support for both embedded and AES-EBU digital audio.

VT[4] LIVE! is an integrated production suite that offers live switching of 8 component or Y/C sources, or up to 24 composite sources. VT[4] provides titling, keying, clip playback, real-time editing and simultaneous output to video, projector and Internet.
