What is the Global Champions Tour?

The Global Champions Tour (GCT) Grand Prix is a high status international competition gathering the World’s most prestigious outdoor show jumping events into a same championship event. The GTC brings the best of equestrian sport to some of the most prestigious places and biggest venues worldwide. This is the rendez-vous for the best riders and the best horses in the World to get the unique chance to win the best prize money ever awarded in equestrian sports.

When and where does it take place?

In 2010, the fifth edition of the Global Champions Tour features nine events held throughout the year in Valencia Spain, Hamburg Germany, Torino Italy, Cannes France, Monte Carlo Monaco, Chantilly France, Valkenswaard Netherlands and Rio de Janeiro Brazil.

What is the role of KS IT & Mediaservice in relation to this event?

KS IT & Mediaservice is responsible for powering the big screens on the GCT venues, for providing the EUROSPORT OB Van with 3D animations and TV graphics and for streaming the event live on the GCT website.

What did you use the TriCaster for precisely?

In the last GCT event for instance, in Monaco, we used a TriCaster Broadcast portable live production unit to power the big screens and provide live venue video, bringing the audience closer to the action. We used this unit to mix two live sources and send commercials from the DDR player on to the screens. We also used the TriCaster TCXD300 portable live production system in HD/SD to stream the event live to the GCT website.

We mixed two live feeds, audio comments and commercials and streamed them live to the Internet. We also used NewTek TriCaster technology to provide EUROSPORT with 3D animations and graphics during live production. The video signal was delivered by a local video service and EUROSPORT.
