Is your walking house inspired by Josh Kirby's luggage for the Discworld stories by Terry Pratchett?

I spend a lot of time in Bookshops just looking at the covers of books and trying to absorb as many good ideas as possible. The Discworld series of cover illustrations are definitely a great source of inspiration.

The walking hand drawing the house should be interesting. How will you animate it?

After you mentioning the hand in the painting, I definitely want to model and animate this. I will just treat my hand as if it's not connected and translate the information to the 3D model. I guess the nearest reference besides a hand would be a spider?

The bull was famously used for a NewTek advertising campaign promoting LightWave 6.5. What was it inspired by?

I spent a number of months working for NewTek in San Antonio, Texas. While I was there, Donetta Colboch asked me if I was interested in developing a bull design. This was because of the 3D cow that has a long history for LightWave users. Donetta said I should try and merge it with technological things like bits of machinery. I thought her idea sounded ridiculous at first, but the more I thought about it, the more of a design challenge I thought it would be, so I threw myself into its design for a number of months.

You're well-known as a LightWave teacher. Can people get lessons from you?

Yes, I am always interested in teaching art and animation through LightWave, there are a couple of places I work in England as an instructor. Contact me to see where I'm going to be presenting next: toonfactory@fsmail.net

Thanks Graham, what goodies have you got for the readers?

In common with all struggling artists, I propose to pay the people reading this interview with some of my sketches and notes. Will that suffice?
