What spec machine(s) are you using it on at the moment?

At home I'm running on a dual 1.7GHz which is already three years old now, and in office the fastest that we have is a dual 2.0GHz.

Are there any plug-ins you wouldn't be without?

Mostly they are free ones, scripts and plug-ins in both Modeler and Layout that makes working faster and more efficient.

In your opinion: Integrated or Separated? :)

Integrated please, by any means, Integrated. What I mean by integrated is not about putting Modeler and Layout in one interface but having them as one but each with its own workspace, in which the workspaces are entirely configurable, for example you can pull in part of the modelling tool into layout workspace and start tweaking your character while creating morph targets that are keyframed there and then. With integration, we can model in Layout as if we were in Modeler, and thus enable things like image-based modelling.

What was the turtle submarine was for?

The turtle sub is a submission for a contest held here in Malaysia, the theme was to design a Malaysian underwater exploration vehicle, so I chose to do a sub that looks like a leatherback turtle, as it is a symbol of Malaysia sea as well as tourism attraction. This won 2nd prize due to the fact that I didn't put in enough Malaysian elements to please the judges - mainly I'm doing this for the sake of fun.

How did you organise the shoals of fish in the turtle shots? Are they particles?

The shoals of fish are just one large big object of small fishes randomly cloned in Modeler, and later bent in Layout using a string of bones. This way is more economical and efficient since this is just for a still image render.

The main turtle shot is incredibly detailed. How long did it take at the resolution you sent it to us at (his images are shrunk down from 1600 x 1200 for the site)?

It took about 30 minutes for the base pass, but most of the details in the background aren't straight renders, they are painted in Photoshop.

Was A Malaysian Friday ever finished? I only ask because the Malaysian Friday site says that it's only 70% complete. Is there somewhere I can see it in full?

Not yet, originally I planned to finish it a few weeks after the first release, but I never had time to get to it. It ended up as an incomplete project and one that, by now, I would consider a complete incompletion. ;)

What do you do for Clickgrafix?

Most of the things I do are content development like 3D animations, TV commercials, event videos, animation for launches, IDs and other things. Apart from that, sometimes I have to go around to colleges to demo LightWave, and sometimes at trade shows when Click has a booth there. On top of that I have produced some basic tutorials and a training program mainly to aid beginners who just bought LightWave from Click, these training programs help aid the lecturers to learn as well as teach LightWave. There are a few basic modelling tutorials that I've done which can be downloaded on our website. Sometimes I also have to conduct training classes to customers who requested intermediate and advanced LightWave training on a specific topic.
