Ben and William's European Tour 2004

28/05/2004
3D Festival comes around quickly and after the success of our user meeting the year before we thought we'd have another! You can read about our great time in Denmark and also at fmx/04 in Germany herein.

Ben "BeeVee" Vost and William "Proton" Vaughan chat about their experiences in Denmark and Germany.

BeeVee: So, it was good to see the users at 3D Festival again this year, but even better to get to Stuttgart for FMX, eh?

Proton: I was really looking forward to this trip ever since last year and FMX was a major bonus for me. I only wish a had a few more days in Stuttgart.

BeeVee: I know, but at least you got to see the town a bit with Dagmar...

Proton: Dagmar was amazing....Michael is one lucky guy!

BeeVee: For myself, I was really pleased to get to eat Schweine haxe fleisch again...

BeeVee: Mind you, you only want to do it once a year!

Proton: You look like a kid in a candy store in the photo of you eating it.

Proton: that was Texas size meal.

BeeVee: Maybe I'll fit right in if I come to San Antonio!

Proton: You need to work on the accent though...

Proton: I was pleased at the beer selection in Europe.

BeeVee: So, last year was your first time in Europe, was this your second?

Proton: Yup... and I actually had twice as much fun... I love that we weren't so rushed this year.

BeeVee: Me too. We started off our trip to Denmark in style - by visiting Sweden!

Proton: That was the shortest trip to a different country I ever took :)

Proton: I love that we were on the train coming back to Copenhagen and a buddy called me to say he had just crossed over to Canada... I got to tell him I was in Sweden on my way back to Denmark :P

Proton: Kinda took the wind right out of his sails!

Proton: We met even more LightWave users than last year as well.

Proton: The guys from Finland were awesome.

BeeVee: Yeah, but Iiro and Eetu sure could drink...

Proton: they didn't seem phased at all by the end of the night.

Proton: It was great to finally meet Leigh Van der Byl, Christophe Desse, Michael Wolf... etc.

BeeVee: Even Leonard Teo seemed to have calmed down a bit this year too.

Proton: I've talked with so many people online that it's always very cool to get to meet them in person.

BeeVee: It's the best thing, but I think we have to take a moment for the poor unfortunates on deadline that we were going to meet up with - Tudor, Erik Wernquist, Toonafish, Stefan Brink and more...

Proton: Wish we could have seen those guys again this year.

BeeVee: But we did have some of the gang from last year, including Peter, our pet non-LightWaver. Did you get his picture wearing the LightWave shirt?

Proton: I believe I did... he's a great guy... maybe next year we will have him converted :)
